John White post-graduation NET alumni scholarships

Thanks to the very kind generosity of State Superintendent John White, three NET alumni received much needed and much deserved scholarships to help with their continued education.

Semester 1 Exhibition Highlights



This semester at The NET saw some of the best exhibitions to date!  Students showed off what they learned this semester in new and exciting ways, including poems, essays, paintings, documentaries, and dances.

NET Alum Brian Davis Lands Full-Time Job at Cafe Reconcile

Congratulations to Brian Davis (Class of Fall 2013) for his new job at Cafe Reconcile!

Brian starred in the very first short films produced by The NET's Lights Camera Action class and was known around school as a friendly young man who was always willing to help out other students.  After graduating from The NET, Brian completed Reconcile's job training program and secured employment at The Ashe Cultural Arts Center.  He joins Reconcile full-time thanks to a grant from from the W.K. Kellogg Foundation.

Nothing But NET

Last weekend, The NET's Third Annual Nothing But NET fundraiser featured a soiree at The New Orleans Jazz Market and a 3-on-3 basketball tournament.  The soiree featured musical performances, a silent auction, awards for partners of The NET, and an opportunity for guests to learn more about the school.  The basketball tournament featured some heated competition as teams played for a cash prize and trophy, while a free community resource fair connected community members to valuable services.
